During the winter the Sailfish, athletes of the sea, arrive to the area surrounding Holbox and Isla Contoy.
Here they find an abundance of sardines and groups of up to 20 Sailfish hunt the shoals, herding them into ´baitballs' before feeding voraciously.
In this tour you can see, swim and snorkel with the Sailfish as they herd and feed on these huge shoals of sardines. It is an encounter like no other and unmissable for the serious underwater photographer, videographer or anyone that wants to see one of the greatest spectacles of the Natural World.
The Sailfish area is located in the north part of Quintana Roo and is easily accessible by boat from Cancun. As the sailfish move so rapidly from one area to another and the weather conditions have to be right for the experiance, we recommend that you plan for up to three days for this tour.
The tour includes transportation, gear, swimming with the sailfish and snorkeling in Isla Mujeres, soft drinks and lunch.
