The Yucatan Cenotes are natural underground rivers whose flow has formed magnificent caverns and a cave system that attests to the evolution of the Earth´s geology.
Cave diving deep within their interior has revealed marine fossils dating from the pre-glacial era when the Yucatan Peninsula was submerged beneath a tropical sea.
Thousands of years of rain filtering through the porous limestone rock initially sculpted these unique rock formations, giant stalagtites and stalagmites.
Then as sea levels rose and the fresh water began to float and flow above the salt, the Yucatan caverns were submerged and only those who cavern dive could gain access to the spectacular underground galleries that house these unique geological structures that have formed over millenia.
The safety standards for this tour dictate that we will only take 4 cavern divers per instructor and we will not exceed this ratio for any reason, so we can ensure not only your safety, but also a highly personalized service.
Each Cenote tour includes all transportation, entrance to the cenote, two dives (except when diving Angelita) soft drinks and snacks, gear, flashlight and wet suit. The Cenote tours usually take around 5 hours . The meeting point is in our facility at 8:45 a.m. or we can pick you up at your hotel.
These cavern dives do not require special qualification, to dive the cenotes all you need is the open water certification.
